Bad Bridesmaid: The Movie – My dream cast

unnamed-3When Between a Rockstar and a Hard Place and How Not to be Starstruck came out, during interviews I was frequently asked who would play the characters from my books if they were made into movies. This was something I hadn’t really given much thought, but as I started considering potential actors and actresses, I realised how much fun it was to think about.

So, with my latest book, Bad Bridesmaid, out next week (22nd Aug), I decided to sit down and think about who I’d love to see playing the parts of my characters.

Here’s the blurb: LA romcom writer Mia Valentina has it all; money, success, a tanned and toned body, golden blonde hair and a string of sexy lovers. She’s almost forgotten her previous self: plain old Mia Harrison. Until a wedding invitation arrives requesting (demanding!) her presence as chief bridesmaid at her younger sister Belle’s upcoming nuptials.
Mia’s barely been back in England before she’s accidentally injured the groom, unintentionally ‘cursed’ the wedding and been caught in a compromising position with her sister’s soon to be brother-in-law!
With the wedding of the year going dangerously off the rails, Mia has no time to waste – especially with sexy fireman and best man Leo on hand to help… Will she use all of her expert romance knowledge to save the day or will she just walk away? No one ever said a bad girl had to turn good…

It was a lot of fun trying to work out who would be perfect for each role… I’d love to know who my fellow Pink Ink ladies would cast for the movie of one of their books.

Mia Valentina – Billie Piper

Actress Billie Piper was the first person who sprang to mind when I thought of who I’d love to see playing Mia, my leading lady. Mia had a tough time growing up, being quite plain, chubby, studious and the second favourite child (even though she only has one sister), so when she hit the bigtime with her writing in her twenties, she transformed herself into this blonde bombshell who breezed through life without a care in the world. Not a care in the world, that is, until she is summoned home for her younger sister’s wedding. Billie actually shares a similar look with what I had in mind when I wrote Mia.

Leo De Luca – Fabrizio Santino

Tall – check. Dark – check. Handsome – check. From his good looks to his sexy eyes to his Italian DNA, Hollyoaks hunk Fabrizio Santino would be perfect for the role of Leo, the fit fireman. Again, I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect for taking on the role.

Mike Ryan – Robert Pattinson

In the book, Mia actually describes Mike (her sister’s soon to be brother-in-law) as a darker haired Robert Pattinson, so nothing would amuse me more than to see Rob taking on the role.

Chris the lifeguard – Chris Hemsworth

Fit – check. Australian – check. Blonde – check. Another almost made-to-measure star ready to hop into the role of one of my characters. Chris Hemsworth would be perfect for the role of Chris the lifeguard.

Bad Bridesmaid is out 22nd August, click here to pre-order from Amazon.
